Annual Order Automator Update | Message from the Founder

I sent an email to all Order Automator app users to check in, ask for feedback, show some highlights + share what's coming soon.

We don't have a changelog, so figured I'd share here... but that is one of the feedback notes I wrote, we should publish a changelog. 😁

Message from the founder

👋 Hi I'm Joe. I created Order Automator 6 years ago with the goal to save time and make store management easier.

I was a Shopify store owner and software engineer. I saw a problem, built a solution, and that turned into Order Automator.

I became fueled by the feeling of helping people save time and level up their Shopify stores, and seeing the amazing reviews people share.

That fuel continues to drive my team and I to add more features and make the app better for everyone.

I'm writing to check in and share some updates, hear your ideas or frustrations, and learn what we can do to better support you and your Shopify store.

Highlights from 2025

Some feature updates from the past year:

• Turn order confirmations into an engagement touchpoint + gain social media followers
• See this guide for examples

✅ Daily Jobs

• Create custom jobs that run daily, weekly, or monthly at a specific time

✅ Notification Editor

• Create fully customized email notifications using a template editor, html, and variables
• Attach PDFs and purchase orders
• Send emails from your domain and customer sender name

✅ Rule Automations

• Trigger rules on more events (refunds, fulfillments, etc)
• More condition selectors (UTMs, chargeback status, + more)
• Auto retry fulfill rules when order's on hold

✅ Logs

• Check detailed logs of what actions Order Automator took on recent orders

⚙️ We also constantly monitor and improve the backend to make sure it's most reliable and efficient for you, but those would bore you, not worth mentioning. 🤓

We have so many ideas (often inspired from user feedback), here are a few we're most excited about:

🚀 Upsell Tools • Increase AOV by adding upsell offers in checkout and Thank You page • Upsells aren't new, but our goal is to make highly effective offers by using AI along with the massive amounts of order processing the app does

🏬 More Marketplaces • We already have a strong Amazon integration, and have more features in the works • We're adding more marketplaces to connect your Shopify store (if you have a specific marketplace you want to connect let us know)

🧠 Order Intelligence • AI powered analyses and insights to help you identify opportunities, trends, and recommendations to increase sales and improve operations

That was it, I didn't want to write a super long email so just shared some highlights, there were and are many more updates, some we're excited about:

• 2025 was a big year for optimization and general updates, 100's of updates and lot of tighting things up and making the app better and easier to use

• 2026 is all about launching a lot of new functionality and some game changing features that can really help a lot of Shopify stores level up

• We hit 100 reviews on the Shopify app store. 🥳 That was big but also realizing we need a better way to ask for reviews. A lot of people love the app, would be great to hear more from people

• We made some efficiency improvements that saved hundreds of thousands of requests per day 🤯

• Tech is moving faaaast. I always like dabbling with new stuff and kicking around ideas... this is translating to some big AI features in the works, seeing how we can really provide some cool value for shops

• We added a new developer, Mike, who I met years ago in Asia while traveling. He's into using new technologies too and is helping us launch new exciting features

• I opened up a side project Shopify store, to better understand our user's needs and get back on the front lines of Shopify store management. It's a store for my art, I'll share that when it's a little better 😁

• I went to conference earlier this month called the Nomad Summit in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and whooooa so many ideas and brainstorms. I left with a ton of new inspiration and notes that will directly translate to big wins for Order Automator app users

• I'm feeling more excited than ever about our mission to save people time + provide tools level up store workflows

• I have at least 200 more bullet points I could write for highlights + what's coming, but lets leave it at this and get back to work
